It’s that time again: the ÖH elections will take place between May 13 and 15, 2025.
In order for us, the FSInf, to continue to represent you and your interests, as well as to ensure legal certainty for the operation of existing and new services, we ask for your support. The best way to represent you is when voter turnout is as high as possible.

If our previous work has helped you and you have been looking for the right moment to thank us — for example, for the advice received, support during inspections or discussions with lecturers, the operation of the VoWi, Mattermost, the occasional get-togethers, or invisible work like the redesign of the study plans: Your vote for our candidates in the ÖH election is that moment!

Attention: FSINF is not the Fachschaftsliste!
Name similarities between student representations and lists campaigning for university or federal representation do not imply affiliation. Just as not all Austrians are part of the People’s Party, not every Fachschaft is part of the Fachschaftsliste—the FSInf is not, for example! Or also: “FSINF - Fachschaft Ist Nicht Fachschaftsliste,” or for those who like recursive acronyms: “FSINF - FSINF Ist Nicht Fachschaftsliste” ;-).

When and where can you vote?

From May 13 to 15, 2025 Prechtlsaal, Karlsplatz 13, 1040 Vienna

  • Tue, 2025-05-13: 10 to 19 o’clock
  • Wed, 2025-05-14: 9 to 19 o’clock
  • Thu, 2025-05-15: 8 to 14 o’clock

General Information

In the ÖH election, all students vote for their interest representatives.

The ÖH consists of several levels, each with different areas of responsibility, all of which are elected simultaneously: the Federal Representation (“Bundesvertretung”, BV), the Institution-Level Representation (“Hochschulvertretung”, HV), and the Study Representation (“Studienvertretung”, StV). The “Institution-Level Representation” will be called by it’s old name “University Representation” in the following paragraphs since we consider this name to be more concise.

The respective levels have different organizational forms and responsibilities and send representatives to various assigned committees and bodies, but there are relatively few overlaps.

The Study Representation Informatics at TU Vienna

For the Study Representation, there is a personal voting right, meaning you will find the names of individuals on the ballot. For computer science, there are 5 study representation mandates, so up to five candidates can be elected.

The following individuals from FSInf (Fachschaft Informatik) have been nominated for the election to the Study Representation Informatics:

  • Fabian Erker
  • Daniel Kipp
  • Kiara Kolisch
  • Thomas Schönauer
  • Bence Simon

More about our candidates can be found at: www.fsinf.at/wahl-vorstellung

All other candidates are not part of FSInf and are not supported by us.

What is the relationship between the Fachschaft Informatik and the Study Representation Informatics?

The Fachschaft Informatik is a loose group of individuals without official membership, where, among others, the currently elected study representatives are engaged, but also individuals who have been sent by the Study Representation to various committees and working groups, as well as E-Tut organizers, or simply people who want to procrastinate. The Fachschaft Informatik is not to be equated with the Study Representation Informatics, although in the current period, 4 out of 5 elected study representatives are also active in the Fachschaft Informatik. A more detailed description of the Fachschaft Informatik can be found on one of the countless About Us pages. :-)

The University Representation at TU Vienna

The University Representation is a list election where you can mark a cross next to one of the campaigning groups or factions.

Due to the name similarity between the Fachschaftsliste and the Fachschaft Informatik, there often occurs an unintentional vote for the Fachschaftsliste (“Because people want to vote for us”), while the Fachschaft Informatik has not been associated with the Fachschaftsliste for over 20 years. Therefore, we find it necessary to explicitly and clearly point out that the name similarities between student representations and the lists campaigning for university or federal representation do not imply any affiliation, and we recommend voting for opposition factions. A little mnemonic: “FSINF - FSINF Is Not the Fachschaftsliste” ;-).

The following factions will be on the ballot (sorted according to the TU Vienna election commission’s page, which will be published):

  • FACHSCHAFTSLISTE (FL)
  • tubasis (tubasis)
  • Verband Sozialistischer Student_innen in Österreich (VSStÖ)
  • Junge liberale Studierende - JUNOS (JUNOS)
  • AktionsGemeinschaft TU Wien (AG TU)
  • Grüne & Alternative Student_innen (GRAS)
  • Kommunistischer Studierendenverband (KSV-KJÖ)

Voting Recommendation from the Fachschaft Informatik

As we have indicated several times, the Fachschaft Informatik has not been “with” the Fachschaftsliste for a long time. Although we cannot and do not want to dictate what you should vote for, we find it important that you consider whether it is really a good idea to vote for the faction that has consistently held an absolute to two-thirds majority in the University Representation for 30 years and from which the two largest study representations by student numbers (Computer Science and Architecture) have not been part for a very long time.

If you were to ask us, we would recommend that you cast your vote for tu*basis due to personnel and content-related proximity, which primarily consists of architecture and computer science students (two members of the Fachschaft Informatik are even on the tu*basis list) and is independent (by definition: it is not a front organization of parliamentary parties).

Federal Representation

In the Federal Representation, a list is also elected, and you have one vote, just like in the HV election, so you can mark one cross.

The following factions will be on the ballot (sorted according to oehwahl25.at):

  • Verband Sozialistischer Student_innen in Österreich (VSStÖ)
  • AktionsGemeinschaft (AG)
  • Grüne & Alternative Student_innen (GRAS)
  • Junge liberale Studierende - JUNOS (JUNOS Studierende)
  • Unabhängige Fachschaftslisten Österreichs (FLÖ)
  • Kommunistischer Student_innenverband – Linke Liste (KSV-LiLi)
  • Kommunistischer Studierendenverband (KJÖ) (KSV-KJÖ)
  • Who the f*ck is Herbert? (HERBERT)
  • Ring Freiheitlicher Studenten (RFS)
  • fölik. – Eure transparente Studierendenvertretung (fölik.)
  • Revolutionäre Kommunistische Partei – Studierende an den Hochschulen (RKP)

Voting Recommendation from the Fachschaft Informatik

Nationwide, we recommend voting for VSStÖ or GRAS.
